Entering A Show
For my new jewelers, here are the steps for entering a show. Most of the steps are self explanatory, but read the notes for special reminders:
On the Premier Designs homepage, go to ordering/products, then online order, then the appropriate type of show:
Home Show = home or training (minimum $100)
Individual Order = 1 customer wants to order something not affiliated with a show. There is no free jewelry or bonuses involved, and you must spend a minimum $20CV or be charged an additional $5 in shipping.
Sample Order: Your personal jewelry orders
Catalog Purchase Plan: A catalog show (20% free to the hostess plus 1 item half price)
Here are special notes for each step of the home show.
Step 1:
- This is where you'll choose home, training, or renewal show.
- Number of customers/retail items is ONLY for the sake of making sure they give you enough blanks for your orders. Don't stress about counting.
- Shipping Method should always be $0. 2-day shipping does NOT speed up the processing speed at the home office. So this will NOT mean your jewelry is shipped in 2 days!
- Here you will enter your HOSTESS' address so that the order ships directly to her.
Step 2:
- Enter each customer only once. And only enter customers who actually ordered. If you don't have their number, you can enter yours. This is not saved for a database or anything
Step 3:
- Enter a separate line for each item the hostess ordered.
- If the item is a ring, you must enter the item number with the size added as 2 digits on the end. For example, ring 3333, size 6 would be 333306.
- If Premier has a promotion (for example, spend $75, get $40 free) DO NOT enter the free item on this page! There will be a screen for this later.
Step 4:
- This page is for review, check everything thoroughly!!!! You do NOT want your hostess and customers to be excited to receive their jewelry and then realize their item is missing or wrong!
Step 6:
Step 7:

Step 4:
- If you gave a discount of any sort, this page is where you enter the amount that you charged. You cannot discount below 50%.
Step 5:
Step 6:
- Enter the hostess half price selections.
Step 7:
- Enter the hostess free here. If the $ amount in red writing doesn't match yours, go back and check your work.
Step 8:
- Check your work again!
- Check the box in the tan box
- Choose the tax rate. MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONSISTENT.
- After you choose your tax rate, there will be a small box to check if you would like to use ProPay funds. Check this and then enter the amount you would like to use from propay to apply to the order. You DO NOT have to transfer funds from ProPay into your checking account. This saves you money. Make sure you hit the "Apply Propay" button!
- Double check the hostess address. If you enter the wrong address, Premier insurance does not cover the replacement of the jewelry.- Read and check the box in the red writing.
Then "Complete this Order" and you're done! :)
REGISTER FOR RALLY!
Don't forget to register for Rally! I promise this event will change your business! Let me know if you have questions or concerns! And let me know if you're going so we can plan accordingly! :)
Brian and I are already registered. Registration deadline is June 15. That's ONE MONTH from today!!
Two years ago, they filled up & had a wait list, but that doesn't usually happen. Still, I would book sooner rather than later! :) Also, GUESTS are welcome! :)
See you in DALLAS!

Returns & Exchanges
So, one of the many jobs of a Premier Designs jewelry lady is to handle returns and exchanges. You WILL have an abundance of jewelry brought to you that has gone wrong in some way. Because of Premier's awesome Golden Guarantee, we get to tell our customers, "That's no problem at all! I'll take care of it immediately!"
Now, r/e's can be overwhelming. They can seem frustrating and time consuming. BUT work to keep in mind that this is a WONDERFUL service that Premier offers, and it gives US the opportunity to offer OUR hostesses and customers WONDERFUL customer service!
Now, when I first signed with Premier, I started dealing with r/e's almost immediately. At first, I was running to the post office every time I had an r/e. I quickly realized that I was spending TOO MUCH time and money on this process! So here's what you're going to do!
1. Sign up for an account at USPS.com. It's very convenient, and easy to use.
2. Order some small flat rate boxes. (Under 'ship a package', then 'get mailing and shipping supplies'). These are FREE and are delivered for FREE! :)
3. When you have an r/e, immediately go online & order the new piece. Print the form at the end of the order, and drop the form & the jewelry into the box. DO NOT SEAL IT! I just set the box on a shelf with a post it note on it telling me when to ship it. I try to ship it 7 days before the 30-day limit.
4. Throughout the month, as you get more r/e's, just continue to add them to the same box.
5. When you are ready to ship, go online and print a shipping label for a small flat rate box. (Under 'ship a package', then 'print a label with postage.' It will cost you $5 to print a label for a small flat rate box. And because it's flat rate, you can shove as much as you want in there! My favorite part is there is an address book & you can save Premier's address, and your return address, and use them in the future. The label prints on regular computer paper. Tear the paper in half, put the label half on the box (I use glue AND tape) and then keep the receipt half for your records!
6. Here's my favorite part! Just drop the box in the mail! Or put it in your box with the flag up. The mailman will stop by and pick it up! And you NEVER have to leave your house! :)

Bridal Jewelry Show

Decorative:
I was thinking of stuffing something into tulle for my booking activities. Maybe I'll tie it with ribbon & add a little ring (a fake one from the dollar tree, of course).
Fashion:
Instead of my usual segments (pearls, silver, gold, etc), I was thinking jewelry combinations appropriate for different "bridal events." Bridal shower, bachelorette, wedding, honeymoon...
Games: what about a bridal poem like pass the gift? who is creative enough to come up with that? :) Or maybe modeling to the "here comes the bride" song? HELP! I'm at a loss...
How can I change the ticket game to be bridally? Or maybe some sort of model/scoring game? where i give two options for bachelorette attire and they score?
Specials: I have dealt with brides a couple times before and have always offered as many 50% off items as they need to buy their bridal party jewelry.
I would also like to have something especial for guests to buy for the bride. Like.. because it's a special day, I will give 40% of the total sales to the bride in free jewelry?? (So a $400 show would cost me $20).
What do you guys think?!

Spring Combinations!
Today I was asked for some new ideas for spring combinations. I realized that I don't spend much time playing with my jewelry. So that's what I did today after school! My goal was to find TWO ways to wear each necklace [that I own] from the spring line. Here's what I came up with! :) [Items underlined in the captions are also from the spring line.]

Lifestyle Verbiage
Krystle and I were talking about lifestyle bookings yesterday, and then one of my trainers emailed me this site!
login: papa
password: john
I added it to the Premier Leadership Websites page on this blog.
Lifestyle bookings means booking with ladies as you are out and about. There are good trainings on the Premier Designs websites for this, and also a lot of good information on various Premier Leadership Websites. But I liked this information!
Here's what Vicky Carbo says:
- Would you like to get a catalog? (“sure”) Ok, if you’d just jot down your name, address, and phone number for me I can get that to you this week. I’d like to follow up to see if you received it and to see what you think. Oh, and wait a minute... I think I have a coupon here somewhere.”
OR
”Here is a mini-catalog and my business card. Oh, let me see if I can find a $10 coupon for you to use towards anything in this catalog, or I can get you a full catalog if you’d prefer to look at ALL of Premier’s collection. I can check back with you later to see what you think. Would you feel comfortable with that? (“sure”) Great, just jot down information here.
2. Make comments to elicit interest:
Compliment their jewelry. Typically, when you compliment someone else’s jewelry, they will compliment yours. If not, you can say something like this:
”I love that necklace you’re wearing! (“Oh, thank you”) “I notice unique jewelry because I have a jewelry business of my own! (“Oh, what kind of jewelry is it?”) or (“Do you have a store?”)
NOW you have the opportunity to use your mini-mercial.
I love your outfit. (“Oh, thank you”) I’m in the fashion and jewelry business so I always notice stylish put-together women like you. Trust me, they will respond positively.
3. Follow-Up:
Do not drop the ball! Call them within a couple of days, they will remember you better and will be more likely to have a positive response than if you waited too long. To warm up the phone call even more, tell them why you are calling, referencing something personal you discussed with them.
Example: “Hi, this is Vicky Carbo of Premier Designs. We met at Macy’s! I’m the lady who was wearing that beautiful crystal bracelet you liked so much! I just found out my company is having a promotion for our [month] hostesses (make up your own if need be) and I thought you might like to take advantage to not only be able to get that crystal bracelet for Free but receive an average of $200 or more in Free jewelry!! My calendar is filling up quickly but I do have a couple of days still open in the 2nd week of [month]. How does that week look for you?”
Let’s just say that you are trying to schedule July and she can’t have a show until September you can respond with, “I’m already reserving September dates.
What day of the week works best for you in September? If she says she’s not sure yet, you can say, “Premier gives a free jewelry bonus and I give _________ for keeping the show on the original date, but this is what I’ll do for you... I can pencil you in so that you get first bids on my open dates and we can chat in August and confirm if that date is still good for you or not. Does that sound good?”
Be persistent but patient. Even with consistent work, it can still take up to 3-6 months to fill up your calendar.

1. Have a Mini-Mercial:
This is a MUST. Plan how you will respond when people compliment you on your jewelry or ask you what you do. Here are a few examples of questions/comments you might hear:
“What do you do?” “I have my own jewelry business. Have you heard of Premier Designs?”
"No" “Premier is a line of quality high-fashion jewelry. I help women save money by updating their current wardrobe with beautiful and affordable fashion jewelry. Many women get it Free for having a few friends over to play in my jewelry collection!"
“Yes” Oh great, so how do you know about Premier? Catalog: So have you seen our new ______ catalog? I’d be happy to get one to you. [get their name, number, address.] Been to party: So did your family member or friend get a lot of free jewelry? Had a show: Oh, who’s your Premier jewelry lady?
”I love your necklace!”: “Thank you I love it too. This is from the line of jewelry I represent, Premier Designs, have you heard of it?
“No” It’s a beautiful line of high-end fashion jewelry. You could get a ton of free and 1⁄2 price jewelry for having a Premier get-together with a few of your friends. I may have a mini-catalog in my purse.
“I love your purse!” Thank you. It’ s your lucky day because I give purses like this away at my “purse and jewelry” nights. Just for getting together with me for about 20 minutes to hear about my Premier jewelry business you can get a free purse or jewelry. [a little reluctant?] Even if you aren’t interested for yourself, you can still get a cute purse because you’ll then be able to tell others about Premier Designs and refer them back to me if they’re interested.
